James Stone is the author of "A Very Present Help".  Before his conversion to Jesus Christ, his life was in a spiral descent to destruction. It was only by the grace of God that he did not spend time in prison or find an early grave somewhere. For the last 35 years, he and his wife, Sim, have been serving the Lord by planting churches in inner cities of Fort Worth, TX and Tacoma, WA, with the exception of his first church plant in rural Midlothian, TX.
